We do not ask for sensitive personal information, and our website is not aimed at children.
3. Why we use it
We use your personal information only to:

-
keep basic business records, as the law requires

Under POPIA, we process your information because you have asked us to (consent), because it is needed to take steps towards or perform a contract with you, or because it serves our legitimate interest in running and improving our business. We will only send you news or marketing if you have agreed to it, and you can opt out at any time.
4. Who we share it with
We only share your information with service providers who help us run our business, and only as much as they need:

WhatsApp (Meta), if you choose to message us there
-
The Matchbox, our accountants, for invoicing and financial records
-
Our aviation partners, only if your project needs their services and you have agreed
Some of these providers store information on servers outside South Africa. Where that happens, we rely on providers that are bound by data protection laws or agreements that give protection similar to POPIA. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
5. How long we keep it and how we protect it
-
Enquiries that don't lead to work: kept for up to 6 months, then deleted.
-
Client records: kept for as long as needed to deliver our services and for the period the law requires for tax and business records (usually five years).
We protect your information with password-protected accounts, restricted access and reputable, secure service providers. If we ever become aware of a security breach that affects your information, we will tell you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.

To use any of these rights, email our Information Officer at brandon@habitathorizons.com. We will reply within a reasonable time and may need to confirm your identity first.
